AQUAPOR / LUSÁGUA is aware of the relevance of the sector in which it operates and of how it influences people’s quality of life, both in terms of drinking water abstraction, treatment, adduction and distribution systems and the collection, transportation and treatment of waste water and solid waste and water analysis.


In this regard, it believes it is fundamental to integrate the aspects of quality, environment, safety and health management within an umbrella management approach, which makes it easier to pursue the objective of sustainable development in the economic, financial, technical, social and environmental arenas.


Similarly, we assume the commitment to comply with legislation applicable to our business, and also all the other requirements assumed, namely regulatory and contractual.


The responsibilities assumed before its Shareholders, Employees, Clients, Consumers and the Community in general imply the adoption of a strategy to continuously improve the efficacy of its Integrated Management System in terms of Quality, the Environment and Health and Safety, reflected in a commitment present in the daily operations of all those who comprise these Organizations, and applied in the following areas:


1 | Clients – the focus of our attention

To continually improve the service levels to the End Consumer, in terms of guaranteeing the quality of the water supplied and reducing interruptions in the supply;

To develop and improve the relationship with the End Consumer by simplifying commercial processes and investing in alternative products/services according to their needs and expectations;

To ensure the economic sustainability of the Concessionaires, supporting management, promoting planning and making the necessary investments;

To promote internal communication and also communication with Clients, Consumers and Suppliers as a means of improving the efficiency of the activities undertaken;

To optimise the running of the waste water treatment and discharge systems;


2 | Better environment, better quality of life, better quality of service

To take steps to promote the efficient use of resources, to minimise and appropriately manage waste and prevent pollution;

To acknowledge the sensitive nature of the environment and the need to protect water resources, gearing its activities so as to minimise the respective impacts, namely through monitoring technological progress and applying principles for the protection of the environment in all stages of its business;

To define objectives and targets in these areas, within the defined strategy, to plan initiatives conducive to their realization and measure and evaluate the results obtained


3 | Human Resources – Enhancement, Qualification and Competence

To involve all Employees in the ongoing improvement of its activities, fomenting customer orientation in order to satisfy their expectations, and also adopt good practices regarding the environment and safety;

To provide Employees with the motivation, and the technical competence and training necessary for them to perform their jobs, also making them aware of their responsibilities concerning the protection of the environment and safety at work;

To provide a risk-free working environment for the safety of people and property, contributing to social, mental and physical wellness, and promote actions to achieve the related goals;

The commitment to prevent injuries and health issues, eliminating hazards and reducing risks;

To encourage the consultation and participation of workers.

To disseminate the Quality, Environment and Safety Policy to all Employees and make it available to Clients, Consumers, Suppliers and the Community in general.
